Finite Element Analysis
At Chavond-Barry, we have the knowledge and experience to provide you with a full range of on-site services and technical evaluation. Our staff can come to your site equipped with the measuring instruments necessary to determine the actual performance of your process.
Our state-of-the-art computer technology can provide you with a detailed performance analysis of your equipment. Based on collected data, we can determine the process and equipment changes necessary to effect improvements and their related costs. We can perform thermal stress analyses on furnaces, and structural stress analyses on equipment supports and framework. We are the most experienced full service "furnace engineering" firm in the nation. Our reputation, knowledge, and experience in the field of environmentally sound furnace and plant design, specification, and operation is unsurpassed. SAMPLE SIMULATIONS
We can develop models to analyze flow, turbulence, heat transfer, and reactions for industrial applications. Our services include everything from process conception, pilot plant demonstration, start-up through training and optimization. Fluidized Sand Bed Particles Below is a CBE simulation of a fluidized sand bed within a fluidized bed incinerator using Ansys Fluent. Simulation shows mixing of multiple particle sizes (shown as different colors). Thermal Expansion Joint Analysis The following illustrates the results of an analysis performed to determine the movement specifications required for an expansion joint at the quencher inlet prior to a venturi scrubber. Although the numbers illustrated for displacement (in the Z direction) are the actual values, the movement in the animation is exaggerated 30X to enable visualization. Note that the vertical duct expands upwards and the upper horizontal duct expands in both directions, as expected. |
ANSYS® Fluent® fluid dynamics is a comprehensive product suite for modeling fluid flow and other related physical phenomena. It offers unparalleled fluid flow analysis capabilities, providing all the tools needed to design and optimize new fluids equipment and to troubleshoot already existing installations. CBE uses the software for general purpose computational fluid dynamics as well as industry-specific applications.
Autodesk® Simulation Multiphysics software, part of the Autodesk® solution for Digital Prototyping, provides a range of mechanical simulation tools to help designers and engineers make critical decisions earlier in the design process. Using an extensive set of finite element modeling tools and built-in material libraries, CBE can more easily study initial design intent and accurately simulate the behavior of a complete digital prototype.
